AppLock is a privacy and security app that helps you protect your apps, files, and sensitive content by locking them behind a PIN, pattern, or biometric authentication.
By using AppLock, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
? 2. Data We Collect
2.1 Data You Provide
- Lock credentials (PIN, pattern) are stored locally in encrypted form on your device
- Vault files (photos, videos, documents) are encrypted and stored locally
- App lock preferences and schedules are stored locally
2.2 Data Collected Automatically
- Device information (model, OS version) via Firebase Crashlytics for crash reporting
- App usage analytics (anonymous, aggregated) via Google Analytics for Firebase
- Advertising identifier for personalized ads (can be opted out)
- Install referrer data to measure marketing campaigns
- We do NOT collect or transmit your PINs, patterns, or biometric data
- We do NOT access or upload your vault files
- We do NOT collect your locked app list on any server
- We do NOT require account creation, so we do NOT collect your name, email, or passwords
- We do NOT access the content of apps you lock

- To provide app locking and privacy vault functionality
- To detect intruder attempts and capture intruder selfies (stored locally)
- To deliver personalized or contextual advertisements
- To analyze app performance and fix crashes
- To improve user experience through anonymous analytics
- To process in-app purchases and manage premium subscriptions

? 5. App Permissions
AppLock requires the following permissions to function properly:
- Usage Access: To detect when apps are opened so we can display the lock screen
- Display Over Other Apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): To show the lock screen overlay on top of protected apps
- Foreground Service: To run the app protection service reliably in the background
- Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): To show persistent notification for the lock service and alert on intruder attempts
- Boot Completed (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): To automatically restart the protection service after device reboot
- Biometric (USE_BIOMETRIC): To authenticate using fingerprint or face unlock as an alternative to PIN/pattern
- Camera: To capture intruder selfies when someone enters the wrong PIN/pattern (optional, user-enabled)
- Vibrate: To provide haptic feedback on lock screen interactions
- Internet: To serve ads, report crashes, and process in-app purchases
? 6. Data Sharing & Disclosure
- We do NOT sell your personal data
- We do NOT share vault files, lock settings, or credentials with any third party
- Anonymized crash reports may be sent to Firebase Crashlytics
- Anonymized analytics may be processed by Firebase Analytics
- Ad networks may collect device identifiers as described in their privacy policies
- We may disclose data if required by law or to protect our legal rights
? 7. Data Retention
- Lock credentials, vault files, and preferences are stored on your device until you uninstall the app or clear app data
- Intruder photos are retained based on your configured retention period (default: 30 days)
- Crash reports are retained by Firebase for 90 days
- Analytics data is retained according to Google's retention policies
- Uninstalling the app permanently removes all locally stored data

12.1 Acceptance
By downloading or using AppLock, these terms will automatically apply to you. You should make sure that you read them carefully before using the app.
12.2 License
We grant you a personal, non-commercial, non-transferable license to use AppLock on your devices in accordance with these terms.
12.3 Prohibited Uses
You may not: reverse engineer the app, attempt to circumvent its security features, use it for illegal surveillance, or use it for harassment.
12.4 Intellectual Property
All trademarks, copyright, database rights, and other intellectual property rights related to AppLock belong to Namoksha Digital.
12.5 Disclaimer of Warranties
AppLock is provided "as is". We don't guarantee 100% protection against all unauthorized access methods.
12.6 Limitation of Liability
We are not liable for any data loss, unauthorized access if your device is compromised, or other damages arising from the use of the app.
12.7 Governing Law
These terms are governed by the Laws of India.
12.8 In-App Purchases
Premium subscriptions and other purchases are managed via Google Play Billing.
12.9 Advertisements
The free version contains ads via Google AdMob. Upgrading to premium removes these ads.
